I have been an avid hiker for many years, spending a lot of time in the Adirondack mountains. I am both an all season and a winter 46'er (#4484W) and have always thought about ways to accurately display the topography of the region. I have finally developed a way to accurately carve geographical features such as mountains with a CNC milling machine. Since developing these models, I find them to be an incredibly effective way to help visualize routes and trails, and in general just to use as visual aids when discussing trips with friends. I can also do custom regions of interest - email with your request. There is much, much more to come as I generate more models so check back soon. Thanks for visiting. |

This one is Giant and Rocky Peak. It becomes real evident when looking at this model the real size of Giant. I thought I did the scale wrong or something.......it dwarfs Marcy for elevation gain! While Marcy is higher in elevation from sea level, Giant starts from a much lower elevation at the trailhead. Scale 1" = 1000 meters, vertical 2X |
